What Is the Email Attachment Size Limit

There will always be limitations, Basic Email and Email Exchange are no exception. When sending out emails, attachments may be included. Each outgoing emails has up to 50MB of size including attached files. Attachments are encoded before delivery, the actual transmitted size of the file/s are about 25-40% larger. The attachment size limit is determined after encoding.

Is It Possible to Adjust Limitation

Email accounts under Basic Email and Web Hosting are on shared servers. Which means that any changes on configuration on the back end are not possible. As this affects everyone on the same server as you are.

To have control of the configuration and have no limit when sending emails, we recommend getting the VPS package.

When you attach files to an email you are sending out, you will see the size of the file in parentheses as seen on the picture. What you’ll need to remember is that 1 KB (Kilobyte) is 0.001 MB (Megabyte).

Any larger attachments, we recommend using cloud storage service just like Google Drive or Dropbox. Where you can link the file to the recipient and they’ll be able to download the file once they clicked on the link.
