How to Disable/Enable Auto Upgrade of Installed Apps in cPanel

Automatic upgrading of the website’s applications installed in cPanel through Softaculous has its advantages and disadvantages.

Autoupgrading makes sure that the website application is up to date. However, since it is automatic, there will be changes made to the website which you may not be aware of. Because of this, doing upgrades manually might be a better option since you can check and approve the action first before making any changes to the website.

The instructions provided herein are applicable if the website is installed in Softaculous

Note: Not all Softaculous applications have the Auto Upgrade option. Login to the website’s admin page instead to check if an automatic update option is available

Step 1. Log in to cPanel.

Step 2. Click the Softaculous Apps Installer icon found under Software menu.
