Default Address
The default or catch-all address is the one to which all e-mails, addressed to a non-available or
mistakenly entered email account at your domain name are routed to. In case someone sends an
email to info@yourdomain.com and you do not have such mailbox, the catch-all option will
forward this email to your default email address.

2)From the drop-down menu select the (sub)domain for which you would like to set up a default
address.
3)Now you have several options.
a)You can forward all unrouted mail to an email address; in this case, you should type in the

Email authentication
cPanels email authentication features provide information about outgoing messages. This helps
the receiving server verify that the email is coming from a trusted sender.

To combat spam, or unwanted email, cPanels email authentication features attempt to provide
information so that recipients know the nature of incoming messages. This enables you to discard
unnecessary messages.

This helps you to set DKIM and SPF records. DKIM helps verify the sender and integrity of a
message. SPF attempts to prevent spammers from sending email while forging your domain’s name as the sender (spoofing).

1)cPanel -> Mail -> Email Authentication

You can refer the following URL for more details:
=====
http:// docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/CpanelDocs/EmailAuthentication
=====

Forwarders
This feature allows a copy of any email sent to one address to be forwarded to another address.
This lets you use one account to check mail sent to several email addresses.

1)cPanel > Mail > Forwarders
2)Click on “Add Forwarder”
3)Address to Forward: type the address whose email you wish to forward. Be sure to select the
correct domain from the drop-down menu.
4)Forward to email address: (Put in the email address you want to forward to)
5)Click on “Add Forwarder”

Forwarding to free email forwarding like Gmail and Yahoo have been disabled as the free email
providers will reject the emails forwarded to the account when they detect that there are too
many emails being forwarded to their mail servers.

We would recommend to do a fetching of email from Gmail / other free email account via
POP/IMAP as this would be more reliable in terms of emails being received in Gmail / other free
email services.

You can do the following steps to setup Google Mail Fetcher:
===
1. Log into your Gmail account.
2. Click the gear icon on the upper right corner of the page and select Settings.
3. Click the Accounts tab and locate the Check mail from other accounts (using POP3) section.
4. Click Add a POP3 mail account you own.
5. Enter the full email address of the account from which you would like mail fetched.
6. Click Next Step.
7. In the Password field, enter the password for the email address you provided.
8. Select Port 110 for a POP3 connection. For a secure email connection, use Port 995.
9. Click the checkboxes next to the options that best suit your needs:
Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server
Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail
Label incoming messages
Archive incoming messages
10. Click Add Account.

FTP Accounts
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) allows you to manage the files associated with your website

domain name in it, regardless of the publish destination.
3)To the right of “Password:”, please provide a password which will be used to authenticate this
FTP account.
4)To the right of “Quota”, please provide the maximum amount of bandwidth this FTP user may
use. Please note, if you leave the quota at unlimited, then the FTP user will have the ability to use
the total amount of bandwidth for the cPanel account.
5)To the right of “Directory: /”, cPanel will guess the directory you want. You can edit that if you
want.
6)Click Create

Index Manager
The Index Manager allows you to customize the way a directory will be viewed on the web. You
can select between a default style, no indexes, or two types of indexing. If you do not wish for
people to be able to see the files in your directory, choose “No Indexing”.

1)cPanel -> Advanced -> Index Manager

When accessing a directory (rather than a page) on your site, a visitor will typically see the index
page for that directory.

If no index page exists, the browser will display a list (or index) of the files in that directory.
Using the Index Manager, it is possible to define how a specific directory index will appear to those
who access it.

You can also turn off indexing, if you don’t want a directory’s contents to be visible.

Select the directory in which you wish to begin navigating your website’s contents using the popup
window.

To navigate the Index Manager, click the folder icon next to the directory name.

Click the name of the directory for which you want to change the indexing style.

cPanel offers 4 options; select 1 of the following:
1)Standard Indexing: Contents appear only as filenames.
2)Fancy Indexing: Information about the files, such as the size and time last modified, appear.
3)Default System Setting: The default defined by your web host will be used.
4)No Indexing: The contents of the directory are not listed; visitors will see a message stating that
the contents are “forbidden.”
