Addon domains being a fully functional domain name doesn’t mean it has to be on the main directory called ‘public_html’. Addon domains have their own directory, and you can change it. In case you have done big changes or updates to your addon domain website.
Here are the steps on how to change the directory to your addon domain:
Step 1. Log in to the cPanel using this link format: http://yourdomain.com/cpanel/
Replace yourdomain.com with the Main Domain Name connected to your hosting.
Step 2. Click Addon Domains under Domains panel.
Step 3. Click the Pencil icon under Document Root to change the assigned directory.
Step 4. Type the new directory name on the pop-up window. Click Change once all done.
Any files on the new directory will be shown once your addon domain is accessed.
