How to Set up Existing Website to Softaculous

Softaculous is a cPanel feature where open-source web applications like WordPress, Joomla, Magento, among others, can be installed so that websites can be managed virtually. New installation of any web applications for a domain name with an existing website needs to be avoided to prevent the files from being overwritten. However, the existing website can still be imported to Softaculous.

You can do two types of import in Softaculous Apps Installer:

  • From This Server – This is the type of import done if the website files are in your cPanel account.
  • From Remote Server – This is the type of import done if the website files are on another cPanel account.

From This Server

Follow the steps below on how to import existing website from the same cPanel account to Softaculous.

Step 1. Log in to cPanel.

Step 2. Click the Softaculous Apps Installer icon found under Software menu.

Step 3. Use the search box to look for the CMS used by your website and click it. You can also select it from the web applications displayed on the Softaculous home page.
