How to Set up Microsoft Exchange on iPhone

If you are using an iPhone, you can set up your email exchange in two applications: Mail (default for iPhones, iPads, etc.) and Outlook.

You can also set up your email using the IMAP or POP protocol, however, remember that you won’t be able to enjoy your email’s Exchange features.

Below are the steps on how to set up your Email Exchange, click on the links to skip:

Mail

The Mail App on your iPhone can cater to different types of email accounts: basic email, Email Exchange, Google, etc. Below are the steps on how to set up your Email Exchange account:

Step 1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.

Step 2. Select Passwords & Accounts.

Step 3. Select Add Account.

Step 4. Select Microsoft Exchange.

Step 5. Enter the Exchange email address, password, and description.

Step 6. Tap Configure Manually. Type your password and tap Next.

Step 7. On the Exchange screen, enter the following settings:

Email Your Exchange email address.
Server outlook.office365.com
Domain Leave this blank.
Username Your Exchange email address.
Password Password to your Exchange email address.
Description Anything to determine which email is which.

Step 7. Tap Next.
Step 8. Enable the apps that your email can use. Or keep all suggested apps enabled. Tap Save.

Outlook

Make sure that Outlook is installed on your iPhone. Once this is done, follow the steps below:

Step 1. Open Outlook. Tap Add Account.
Step 2. Enter your Exchange email address and tap Add Account. If this is a first set up.

Or, tap the picture of your email on the top-left, and select the Outlook logo on the left. Enter your Exchange email address and tap Add Account.

Step 3. Type in your Exchange email password. Tap Sign In.

Step 4. The screen below will indicate it’s all done. You can continue to add more, or tap Maybe Later to go to your Inbox.

Edit Settings

If you’re having troubles sending or receiving emails either with your Mail or Outlook application, this is your guide. Click on the app you use to skip to the settings: 

Mail

1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
2. Select Passwords & Accounts. Tap on your Email Exchange account.
3. Under Exchange, click Account that has your email address.
4. You can then change: 

  • Server 
  • Password 
  • Description 
  • Username 

5. Click Done.

Outlook

1. Open Outlook application.
2. Tap on your picture on top-left corner. Click Settings on the lower-left corner.
3. Under Mail Accounts, tap on your Exchange Email account.
4. Tap Edit Login Information.
5. Enable Use Advanced Settings. Change settings: 

  • Server 
  • Password 
  • Description 
  • Username 

6. Click Sign In.

Once all is done, you can try to send and receive emails again on these applications.
