How to Set up Email Account on iPhone

Note: This setup guide reflects that of iOS 11, 12, and 13.

If you wish to start sending and receiving emails on your iPhone, as long as you are connected to the internet you will be up to date.

When setting up your email account, please be connected to the internet and have your email address and password ready. If you’ve forgot your email password, click on the guided link on how to change your email password.

If you wish to do changes with your current setup, just like your password or mail servers, click this here to edit your settings. 

Below are the steps on how to set up your email on iPhone:

Step 1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.

Step 2. Select Passwords & Accounts.

Step 3. Select Add Account.

Step 4. Select Other.

Step 5. Select Add Mail Account.

Step 6. Fill out the information under New Account screen, then tap Next.

Display name of your email account when sending out. This could be your full name just like: John Appleseed

Name Display name of your email account when sending out. This could be your full name just like: John Appleseed
Email The email address that you are setting up.
Password The password of the email account you are setting up.
Description Anything that would determine which email is which.

Step 7. Choose IMAP or POP. Fill out the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server details:

Host Name mail.yourdomain.com
User Name The email address you are setting up.
Password The password of the email account you are setting up.

Step 8. Tap Next.
Step 9. Click Save.

You may enable both Mail and Notes, or keep suggested option as is.

You can go to your Mail app and wait for your emails to download, in case there are current emails on your mailbox.

Edit Settings

1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
2. Select Passwords & Accounts. Tap your email address you wish to edit.
3. Click your Account which shows your email address.
4. You can change: 

  • Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers 
  • Username 
  • Password 

5. Click Done on the top-left.

Once this is all saved, you can start to send and receive emails.
