Mod Rewrite for Joomla Permalinks

The .htaccess file is a distributed configuration file and is how Apache handles configuration changes on a per/directory basis.

Joomla uses this file to control how Apache server files from its root directory, and subdirectories thereof. Joomla is notable for modification of this file to be able to handle permalinks. You can use the following Joomla default .htaccess codes for your site, depending on your usage.

You can simply navigate the web root directory of your domain name and create a file named .htaccess file and place the codes inside:
