|Note: The steps herein are for Linux hosting. If you have Vodien WordPress hosting, follow the steps to upload a WordPress website to WordPress hosting.|
When uploading your website files, you might be confused about which folder you should put them in on your hosting server.
Whether you’re uploading your files using an FTP client (Filezilla, CuteFTP, Cyberduck, etc.) or through your Hosting Manager, make sure you’re putting your website files in the correct folder.
- Upload the website files for the primary domain inside the public_html folder.
- If you’re uploading files for a subdomain or addon domain, put them in its specific folder inside the public_html folder. For example, if you’ve added newdomain.com as an add-on domain in your hosting account, cPanel will automatically create a subfolder for it inside the public_html folder. Make sure to upload your files there.
